 Ceremonies
Wedding vows and ceremonies can be as unique and varied as the couples choosing to get married. There is no one way to approach this special moment. This is your day and your ceremony and the vows you choose should reflect who you are and what you mean to each other. A Wedding Expression understands this and is committed to tailoring your ceremony exclusively to you.
Included here are examples of the most commonly selected ceremonies. I do have a wide variety of other ceremonies, both traditional and non-traditional, available for your review. You have the option of choosing one of the existing ceremonies, customizing your ceremony by combining portions of different ceremonies, or creating a ceremony uniquely tailored to you.
Other unique features, such as the Rose Ceremony, Sand Ceremony, Unity Candle or Hand Ceremony can be incorporated into the service upon your request. If you have children, we can work together to incorporate them into the ceremony and acknowledge their special role as part of your new family. You may also want to incorporate a special reading or poem recited by a family member or friend. While I can provide you with a variety of resources to review and consider, as well as offer my experience and ideas, the ultimate decisions relating to your ceremony and how it will flow are yours.
Traditionally, the wedding ceremony is ordered as follows:
- Prelude – music selections (optional)
- Processional – wedding party, bride & groom entrance
- Officiant Greeting
- Opening
- Rose Ceremony (if desired – rose presented to mothers by bride & groom)
- Reading (if desired)
- Vows
- Exchange of rings
- Special Ceremony (Unity Candle, Sand, Hand, etc.)
- Closing
- Pronouncement & First Kiss
- Presentation
